CleanGarageHelp makes money in two ways, and you should know both before you trust anything we recommend.

1. Product links

When you click a product link and buy something, we may receive a commission from the retailer. It costs you nothing extra — the price is identical to what you'd pay going direct.

Where we are today, stated plainly: we are in the process of joining retailer affiliate programmes and several are not yet approved. Until they are, most product links resolve to the retailer's own page or search results and earn us nothing at all. We would rather say that than imply relationships we don't have yet. This page is updated as programmes are approved, and we name them here rather than leaving it vague.

How that affects what you see

Products are selected by fixed rules based on your garage size, your stated budget, your ceiling height, and what's visible in your photo. Commission never overrides fit. If a product is meaningfully better for your garage, it is recommended regardless of what it pays — including when it pays nothing.

One place commission does play a part, and we'd rather describe it than hide it: when two products come out effectively tied on cost-to-do-the-job — within about 4% of each other, which is close enough that the choice makes no practical difference to you — we break the tie in favour of the one that earns us more. Outside that narrow band, cost and fit decide, full stop.

Several major brands in this category run no affiliate programme whatsoever. Some floor coatings are the clearest example. We recommend them anyway when they're the right answer, and you can see that in the plans the tool produces.

Prices shown are estimates gathered from retailer pages and go stale quickly. Always confirm the current price at the merchant before buying.

2. Introductions to service providers

If you tick the box asking for help getting the work done, we pass your details to one or more local providers so they can contact you, and we may receive a referral fee for that introduction.

This only happens because you asked. It is limited to the trades you selected. It never happens to someone who didn't tick that box, and ticking it is never required to use anything on this site. We do not sell your information to data brokers or advertisers. See Your Privacy Choices to opt out at any time.

Those providers are independent businesses. A referral is not an endorsement — we don't supervise their work, verify their licensing or insurance, or guarantee their pricing. Get written quotes and check credentials exactly as you would with anyone you found yourself.

Creator partners

Some visitors arrive through a link belonging to a creator we partner with. Those creators receive a share of any commission earned from their audience. The products and prices you see are identical either way — a creator's share comes out of our commission, never out of your price.

What we are not

We're not a contractor, installer, or licensed professional. The plans, scores and estimates here are informational. Measure your own space, check your own ceiling height, and confirm anything structural, electrical, or involving a garage door spring with a qualified professional.
