Privacy Policy

This page explains what CleanGarageHelp collects, why, and how long we keep it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
The photo you upload
We do not store your photo. It is sent to our servers, passed to our AI providers to be analysed and to generate your finished image, and then it is gone. There is no copy on our systems to delete later — our code has no path that writes it to storage. That is a stronger guarantee than a deletion schedule, because it does not depend on a cleanup job running correctly.
Two AI providers process the photo on our behalf while your plan is being built: Anthropic (to read what is in the picture) and Google (to generate the finished image). They handle it under their own terms as our processors. We do not send them your name or email address with it.
The finished image we generate is stored, so the link in your email keeps working. It is written with an automatic expiry of about 30 days, enforced by our storage provider rather than by us remembering to do it. You can ask us to remove it sooner — see Your choices.
Location data (EXIF) never reaches us. Your browser re-encodes the photo before it is uploaded, which discards EXIF at the source. Garage photos frequently carry the GPS coordinates of your home, and we do not want that information.
Please don't upload photos containing people, faces, or licence plates. If you do, we'll delete them.
Using what we learn to improve the tool
We analyse the derived information from submissions — what the tool observed, what it scored, which recommendations people acted on — to make the product better over time. That analysis runs on structured data, never on a stored library of your photographs, because we delete those.
We do not use your photos or your data to train AI models, and our providers are contractually barred from doing so with data we send them.
What else we collect
- Your name and email, when you choose to give them, so we can send your plan or estimate.
- Your answers — garage size, budget range, timeline, ownership, and for the repair estimator, which repairs you selected and your state or ZIP.
- Contact details you volunteer — phone number and ZIP code, only if you ask us to help you get work done.
- Technical data — a truncated IP fragment used only for rate limiting and abuse prevention.
Email and text messages
We email you only if you ticked the box asking us to. Every message has an unsubscribe link and we honour it.
We will only call or text you if you separately asked us to help you get work done and ticked the box giving permission. That permission is never required to use anything on this site. Reply STOP to any message to opt out; we action opt-outs within ten business days and usually far sooner. We record the date, time and exact wording of the consent you gave, so you can ask us to show you what you agreed to.
Cookies and analytics
Two kinds of measurement run here, and only one of them touches your device.
Cloudflare Web Analytics is on for everyone. It is cookieless — it sets nothing on your device and does not follow you between sites — so it needs no consent and keeps working whatever you choose below.
Google Analytics sets cookies, so it is off until you say yes. We load it using Google Consent Mode with every category denied by default; nothing from Google runs, and no Google cookie is set, unless you press Accept on the banner. Decline and the script is never fetched at all.
Affiliate networks, including Impact.com and CJ Affiliate, may set a cookie when you click through to a retailer, so the retailer can tell the visit came from us and pay the commission. That happens on the click, not on arrival, and only for links you choose to follow. You can block or delete these in your browser settings at any time; the tools here work normally without them.
Impact.com also runs a small script on our pages that reports the page view to them and rewrites any direct retailer link into a tracked one. It is not tied to the Accept button, because it is how the commercial relationship is measured rather than advertising profiling — but if your browser sends Global Privacy Control, we never load it at all.
You can change your mind whenever you like on Your privacy choices. We also honour Global Privacy Control automatically — if your browser sends it, we treat you as opted out, never load Google Analytics, and do not show you a banner at all.
Keeping bots out
We use Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a real person is submitting the form. It replaces the puzzle-and-traffic-light CAPTCHAs you're used to, and for almost everyone it happens invisibly. It does not track you across websites and does not use your data for advertising.

We do this because generating your finished garage image costs us real money on every request. Without the check, an automated script could run up a bill in minutes and the tool would have to stop being free.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of processors to run the service: Cloudflare (hosting and bot protection), Anthropic (image analysis), Google (image generation), and Resend (email delivery). Each receives only what it needs to do its job.
We do not sell your personal information.
There is one situation in which we pass your details to another company: you asked us to. If you tick the box requesting help with the work, we introduce you to providers who can do it — junk removal, flooring, garage doors, electrical and so on. That introduction happens because you requested it, it is limited to the trades you selected, and we may receive a referral fee. If you did not tick that box, no such introduction happens.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from any email, using the link in it.
- Stop texts and calls by replying STOP or emailing us.
- Ask us to delete everything we hold about you — email [email protected] and we'll do it within 30 days.
- Ask what we hold and we'll send you a copy.
- Opt out of referral sharing at any time — see Your Privacy Choices.
We honour Global Privacy Control browser signals automatically. If your browser sends one, we treat it as an opt-out of any sharing without you having to do anything else.
Children
This service is not directed at anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll say so at the top and date it. We won't quietly broaden what we do with information you already gave us.
