The short version

Use the tools, take the plan, buy what makes sense. Everything here is an estimate, not a quote. Don't upload other people's photos or anything with faces or licence plates in it. Don't abuse the service. We only pass your details to anyone else if you specifically ask us to.

Who can use this

You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract. This service is for people in the United States; prices, cost indexes and building-code references are US-specific and will be wrong elsewhere.

What the service is

CleanGarageHelp provides two free tools.

The photo tool analyses a photo of your garage and produces a generated image, a score, and a suggested product list with estimated prices. The generated image is an illustration, not a design document or a promise. It is produced by an AI model and will differ from any real result. It may add, remove or reshape things that are not actually in your space, and it is not a measurement or a quote. Colours, materials and layout — including any you ask for — are suggestions to react to, not specifications to build from. Product suggestions are automated and may be wrong for your specific space. Before building anything, have the space assessed in person by a contractor or designer.

The repair cost estimator produces a price range for repairs you select, based on published US cost guides adjusted by a state construction-cost index. Our full method, sources and exclusions are published at /methodology.

Estimates are not quotes

Prices, quantities, ranges and fit are estimates produced by software. They are not a quote, a bid, an appraisal, or a guarantee, and nobody has inspected your property. Measure before you buy and get written quotes before you hire. We're not responsible for products that don't fit, purchases you regret, quotes that differ from our ranges, or work you undertake based on anything on this site.

We are not a contractor, installer, engineer, or licensed professional, and nothing here is professional advice. Anything structural, electrical, or involving a garage door spring should be confirmed with a qualified person. Building-code references are provided as general information and are not a compliance determination — codes vary by jurisdiction and are amended locally.

Your photo

We do not store the photo you upload. It is used to build your plan during your visit and is not written to our storage at any point, so there is nothing to delete afterwards. The finished image we generate is stored so the link in your email keeps working, and is set to expire automatically after about 30 days. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.

Email, calls and texts

We email you only if you asked us to, and every message has an unsubscribe link. We will only call or text you if you separately asked for help with the work and ticked the box giving permission. That permission is never required to use anything here. Reply STOP to any message to opt out.

Introductions to providers

If you ask us for help getting work done, we may pass the details you provided — your name, contact details, ZIP code, the trades you selected and what you told us — to one or more service providers so they can contact you. We may receive a referral fee for that introduction.

Those providers are independent businesses. We do not employ them, supervise them, guarantee their work, licensing or insurance, and we are not a party to any agreement you reach with them. Check credentials and get written quotes exactly as you would with anyone you found yourself. If you did not ask for help, no introduction happens.

Acceptable use

Don't upload unlawful content or images of people without their consent. Don't attempt to overwhelm, reverse-engineer, or scrape the service, and don't use automated tools against it. We rate-limit usage, require a bot check, and may block access that looks abusive. Generating images costs us real money on every request, so we enforce this.

Our data

The garage sizing and repair cost datasets we publish at /api/spec and /api/costs are available under CC BY 4.0 — use them, with attribution. The rest of the site, including the software, is ours.

Availability

The tools are free and provided on a best-effort basis. We may limit, change, or withdraw them at any time, and daily capacity limits apply.

Liability

The service is provided as-is and as-available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and accuracy. To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us — which, for a free tool, is zero. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, in which case they apply as far as the law permits.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing here removes any right you have under the consumer-protection law of the state where you live.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms; the date above changes when we do. If a change materially affects you, we'll say so at the top rather than change it quietly. Questions: [email protected]
