About

A small, honest tool for a problem almost every homeowner has and nobody talks about.

Why this exists

Nobody decides to lose their garage. It happens one box at a time over nine years, and no single box was ever the problem. Then one day the car lives on the driveway and you close the door a little faster when a neighbour walks by.

The information to fix it exists, but it's scattered across retailer pages that want to sell you a catalogue and render apps that stop at a pretty picture. Nobody tells you what actually fits your garage, what it costs, and what to skip.

How we make money

Affiliate commissions. When you buy something through a link here, the retailer pays us a percentage — at no extra cost to you.

What that means in practice, stated plainly: several products we recommend earn us nothing at all. No epoxy floor brand has an affiliate programme, and floor coating is the most dramatic item in most plans. We recommend it anyway when it's the right answer. If a product ever appears here because it pays well rather than because it fits, the whole thing is worthless.

What we publish for free

The garage sizing and clearance reference — dimensions, rack drops, door-track intrusion, ceiling minimums — is open data under CC BY 4.0, with no prices and no affiliate links on it. Copy it, cite it, build on it.

Your photo

Analysed automatically and never stored — we keep no copy of the photo you upload. The finished image is kept so the link in your email keeps working, and expires automatically after about 30 days. Location data stripped on receipt, because garage photos routinely carry the GPS coordinates of your home. We don't sell it, publish it, or train anything on it.
